Name: Akari Dewhurst
Age: 23 (June 1997)
Sex: Female
Height: 5'4"
Species: Demon
Eye Color: Yellow
Hair Color: Light blue
Clothing: Plain and loose things. Dresses for comfort. Usually seen in a red T-shirt with blue windbreaker (collar up, because she thinks that makes her look cool) and jeans. Other: Two words: Goat Feet. She has your traditional pointed demon tail, grey with blue on the end. Note, that her skin isn't grey-- that's fur.

Occupation: Varies from week to week. Or day to day. She dropped out of community college so her sister could go to a fancy private school, so she can really only get work in the service industry. She’s a diligent worker, yet somehow she always ends up getting fired.
Religion: Catholic. No, really. I think that may be part of her problem.
Skills: Finding things in the classifieds, diagramming sentences, understands the Dewey Decimal System.
Likes: Quiet time, puppies and kitties and babies, reading.
Dislikes: Disorder, mean people, loud noises, secretly—her sister.
Personality: Meek and polite. She avoids confrontation when at all possible, and is constantly paranoid about what other people think of her. Super neurotic.
Story: Akari was born to a kind of sucky rock star and a man her mother often refers to as “that hobo”. The first 7 years of her life were fairly uneventful, unless you count living out of a tour bus an “event”, until… the Biblical apocalypse. Her sister Akazatou was born. From that point on, her life has been a hideous montage of science experiments, giant robots, eviction notices, and hospitalized boyfriends. Everything she does concerns the needs of her mentally ill—allegedly – sister, that is, everything she does has to meet Akazatou’s approval. It’s a sorry state of affairs.

Relationships:
Akazatou: She can’t stand Akazatou, though she’ll never let anyone know that. But because her mom insists, she’s forced to like her. It’s gotten to the point where it almost seems like she does.
Vay: Her BFF since elementary school. They’re often seen geeking out over various uncool things together. When things go wrong, and they often do, Vay is the first person Akari goes to for help. She’s Akari’s definitive model of coolness.
Gypsy: Gypsy totally freaks her out. Most of the time, she tries to hide from her, but for some reason or another, Gypsy has taken it upon herself to “fix up this mess” by trying to convince Akari to be more self assertive. And so Akari has little choice but to go along.
Canti: She’s sort of thinks of him as a little brother, or at least “that neighbor kid”, which makes things all the more weird when he tries to hit on her. She tries her best to keep him out of trouble, being the only one who ever gives him good advice on life, but he almost always caves into the allure of the Crazy-Illegal Scheme.
Raeyoa: They don’t interact very much, but when they do, it usually involves bizarre philosophical discussions.

Character History: Ah, another character who started out as a fan character. For shame. But for what? I’ll never tell. >.> Akari was created sometime in November of 2001, and hasn’t changed much since. Appearance wise, that is. She’s had the same look and same clothes, with very little difference, since the beginning. But as far as personality goes, she’s completely different. Originally, she was yet another one of those mean and scary characters who liked setting things on fire, as was the vogue at the time. But soon she fell into disuse (I was more concerned with Gypsy and Raeyoa), and her role in the story reflected that. Somehow, somewhere down the line, she started to become more and more passive, until she reached the point she’s at now. Akari: In-action Hero!
Her name comes from that point in my life called age 11, where I thought random Japanese names were COOL. This problem was soon corrected, without having to change her name, by turning her mom into a crazy Japanophile. See what I did there?
